What about the flights, do I have to organise and book by myself?
-> Flights are taken care of by the people themselves. A lot of people use frequent flier miles for trips like this.
What terms and conditions apply?
-> Deposit for the trip is US$ 350.-. Balance is due a month before the trip. Cancellation policy is six weeks in advance of the trip.
What about payment, how can I pay?
-> Payment can be done via Credit Card over the phone.
What about insurance? Do I need my own travel insurance?
-> We always recommend that guests have travel insurance. It doesn’t cost that much and is the best way if there was an injury on the trip.
Who will guide the tour?
-> We have an Ecuadorian guide that guides the trip together with me and we have another local person to drive. Our guide road with another trip last year and knows the routes very well.
What happens if the distance is too far for me?
-> No worries about that, we had a group that did a similar ride last year and did not have any problems with distances like 80 km because most of it was down hill. If anyone gets tired they can always put their bike on the bus, which is coming along all the time, and rest while others ride.
What can you offer if I want to spend more time in Ecuador?
-> We can offer an add on itinerary for anyone that has more time, that includes Chimborazo and Baños for more biking and/or climbing, other options are a jungle trip to Cuyabeno, an excursion to the Galápagos islands or white water rafting.
Options:
• Climb the highest active volcano in the world, stand on top of the highest volcano in Ecuador the Chimborazo, enjoy a beautiful sunrise on a snow capped peak and relax after that in the hot springs of Baños:
• Go for an adventurous White Water Rafting Trip or discover the jungle in Cuyabeno
• Spend some time on the Galápagos Islands, a group of volcanic islands around 1000km west of continental Ecuador in the Pacific Ocean spread around the Equator. Enjoy the unique biodiversity, observe endemic species like the Darwin’s Finches, the Blue Footed Booby and the Galápagos Marine Iguana, see the largest living tortoises in the world, the Galápagos Giant Tortoise…
…and swim with the Galápagos Fur Seals / Sea Lions, dolphins and marine turtles in the sea.
